Sparrow Blue - Acoustic Roots Songwriting Duo from Massachusetts featuring fiddle, guitars, mandolin, banjo, harmonica, and sweet vocal harmony.  Their music blends folk, country, bluegrass and old-time influences together with crafted songwriting to paint a musical picture of times gone by, hope, hard times, and new beginnings.

“Sparrow Blue sing with the kind of honest charm and colloquial voice that transports you from a metallic time machine into a swinging barn dance in 1947. They make you feel like the war is over.”- Ellis Paul, award-winning performer/songwriter

Open Mic - sign up when the doors open at 6:30 PM.  All ages and all kinds of music & spoken word welcome.

Our coffeehouses are set up in café style with tables and chairs where you can enjoy a coffee, tea, or soft drink and a snack while you listen to live music.  The featured musicians and open mic performers from the audience provide an evening of entertainment.  Since our shows are from 7 PM until 9:15 PM we encourage families to share the experience together.  Children under 12 are half price.  Come enjoy the show!

Lisa Sheldon’s covers of songs have always shown her gift for discovering something new in the familiar. It was a small step from there to finding her own songwriting voice. She writes about the “wild ride” of life with keen insight and playful humor, serving up truth with a wry wink of the eye.  Please share in her story songs and then, the open mic!

Jon Verdun began as a classically trained pianist but found his passion for folk and acoustic music in the 60’s.  Self-taught on guitar and five-string banjo, he formed the Spider Bridge Bluegrass Band in 1970, then after 13 yrs returned to folk music with the trio P, B & J.  Favoring story songs, Jon has recently concentrated on Tom Paxton, Bill Staines, David Mallett, and John McCutcheon, as well as writing some of his own songs. Please join us for Jon Verdun and the open mic!

Crooning and picking the soulful blues in their own inimitable way Johnny Hoy and Delanie Pickering are coming to the SSFMC this May...you can groove in your seat or dance the night away...your choice. Johnny and Delanie are tearing it up weekly out on Martha's Vineyard; They're making a one night only pilgrimage to Duxbury, MA on Saturday May 6th...and...this will be an early show starting at 5:30 pm.

So come on out and see what the buzz is all about. Put it on your calendar and tell all your friends...we need a big house because we want to make this a yearly extravaganza.
